We are looking for a positive and caring individual to join our friendly team as a Reception/ Administrator.
As an GP receptionist you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of a General Practice.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming and professional environment for patients and visitors, offering support and assistance as needed.
- Opening and closing the practice in line with requirements as well as maintaining the reception and waiting area clean and tidy at all times.
- Coordinate appointments, be confident to triage patients based on urgency as well as appropriately signposting patients to relevant external services where required.
- Processing new registrations ensuring forms are filled in correctly and information is entered onto Emis accurately.
- Answer telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring lines remain free-flowing and patients needs are addressed promptly.
- Check EMIS workflow for tasks such as GP2GP, patient registration, referrals, prescriptions, and other administrative tasks, ensuring timely action.
- Manage daily filing of paper correspondence .Scan, code, and process all mailing and documents, ensuring action is taken when needed.
- Receiving payments and processing requests for medical certificates, reports etc ensuring appropriate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with practice protocols/policy, data protection, safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines.
- Receiving specimens, ensuring they are properly labelled and process them as per protocol .

- We are a small and very friendly team of reception and admin staff, practice manager, GPs, nurses , pharmacist, physician associate and a health care assistant. Other members of the local Primary Care team do also attend and provide clinics at our surgery.
