Job Overview
The Expert by Experience Involvement Worker will support Experts by Experience (people with learning disabilities and/or autism) in fulfilling the functions of their job role including the preparation and co-delivery Estia Centre training programmes. They will also provide practical and emotional support for Experts by Experience to engage with other initiatives and projects which require their involvement.

We believe in working in partnership to inspire a committed, passionate and competent workforce through quality driven, evidenced-based learning and research, and are looking for a creative and passionate Expert by Experience Involvement Worker to help us achieve our vision.
This is a fixed term post for one-year with a possibility of extension. The role can be worked flexibly, but we do ask for Mondays to be prioritised as this is the standard working day of our lead Expert by Experience trainer.
Main duties of the job
The Expert by Experience Involvement Worker’s role will support Experts by Experience in the planning and co-delivery of our training programmes and support them to engage with and participate in other projects, forums, meetings and initiatives which would benefit from their involvement. As such, the successful candidate must have good practical experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities and also have proficient IT skills to develop ‘easy-read’ (accessible) information.
The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and networker who is able to build strong, trusting, collaborative relationships and have some experience of supporting people with learning disabilities to participate in self-advocacy groups or in training activities.
