We have a unique opportunity to join our decontamination services team working at the royal Brompton Hospital. The job will be in support of our operating theatre team and the successful candidate will be expected to have knowledge of both cardiac and thoracic surgical instrument sets and training and experience in decontamination services.
Main duties of the job
The candidate is expected to have experience in working in a decontamination unit and evidence of training in decontamination processes. Royal Brompton Hospital uses an off-site contractor at Park Royal who processes our used instruments, the role of the HCA will be to collect used instruments, check them for integrity and arrange repairs where necessary and prepare items for dispatch. Collection and distribution of instrument sets to theatres and the safe storage of instruments is a major part of the role. The candidate will be working closely with the theatre multi-disciplinary team and is expected to have good communication skills and a working knowledge of Excel and Windows. The candidate is expected to be hard working and self-motivated.
